Pregnancy outcomes in women with endometriosis.

Gradually, we are learning more about the effects of having endometriosis (a long term inflammatory condition) on you both during pregnancy and beyond pregnancy. This report is a review of current literature on the effects of endometriosis during pregnancy. The findings suggest that during pregnancy, women with endometriosis, have an increased risk of a number of pregnancy related complications including preterm birth, preeclampsia, antepartum hemorrhage, and an increase in cesarean delivery.

What this means to you:  If you have endometriosis and become pregnant, you may be at increased risk of certain complications.  With modern healthcare, hopefully most of these can be anticipated and managed well.
